John Clark Roof Replacement – Residential Project
Spokane Roofing Company owner Jeff Sitton cannot talk about a residential roofing job without mentioning his customers. The roof replacement work he did a few years ago for Spokane defense attorney John Clark is no exception.
Clark is now deceased, but Sitton remembers him fondly:
John was a good man, very nice to work with. He has a special spot in my heart.
The roof replacement project on John Clark’s home in the Spokane Valley‘s Northwood area was a big one, probably 7,000 square feet of roofing materials with application made more difficult by the considerable pitch of the roof. All old flashing and bad decking were replaced before new materials were applied.
Spokane Roofing devoted the majority of its resources to the home during the three-week job, using GAF® Grand Sequoia® roof shingles for much of the project, with Zappone copper shingles adding accents around roof windows.
The project included a great deal of detail work, said Sitton. Dormers, starts, ridges and valleys all made the job challenging. Spokane Roofing used VELUX® skylights supplied by Cascade Windows of Spokane, and applied all new flashing to eaves, chimneys, and skylights.
On each residential project, Sitton strives to meet the customer’s needs both financially and aesthetically. He considers it his duty to help a client determine what will look the best and give the best cost value.
Someone can spend all the money in the world on a new roof, but if you don’t see it, it’s not worth the expense. I try to educate our customers about what will best suit their homes, and then let them choose the look they want.
The best roofing products are the most expensive, and they come with better warranties. The best shingles (e.g., GAF Grand Sequoia and GAF Grand Canyon®, CertainTeed® Presidential Shake™) are thicker, look better, and come with inlaid patterns that are not present in standard shingles. Application work requires skilled craftsmen such as the employees at Spokane Roofing Company.
Nevertheless, every customer gets the same commitment from Sitton, no matter how expensive or involved the roofing project.
We’re conscientious in making sure that everybody gets the same treatment, and in helping our customers to understand the differences in the type of products they’re considering. We do not take any shortcuts – everything we do is according to code, and we promise to do things the right way.
I’m proud of the scope of our work, Sitton said.
I think that we’re the largest, most resourceful roofing company in Spokane, and there’s not a house that we can’t do. I really think that we have the residential market figured out. It is about not treating any job like it’s just an average project. Every customer we have deserves special treatment.
