Jeff Sitton, Owner of Spokane Roofing Company
A conversation with Jeff Sitton, owner of Spokane Roofing Company, reveals just about everything one might want to know about roofing, but more than that, it communicates what’s important to him about his business, his employees, and his community.
Spokane Roofing has been in operation since 1907 under the ownership of only two families. Jeff’s father Dave Sitton began working there in 1990, purchased it 12 years later, and Jeff went to work the day his dad bought the business.
With a professional background in sales and finance, Jeff started as office manager with the responsibility of running business operations. His role has grown from there. Jeff’s father, with a wealth of knowledge in the construction industry, is still involved with Spokane Roofing as a resource in that area.
Jeff graduated from East Valley High School in Spokane and attended Community Colleges of Spokane. He knew growing up that he wanted to have his own business at some point.
Timing was the trigger for my involvement in the roofing industry. I love what I do, and what’s most important about it is to provide a valuable resource in the community.
At Spokane Roofing, we pride ourselves on our integrity. Our pricing is consistent, rain or shine. I think that what our customers value most about us, besides our product, is our integrity and our trustworthiness. From the time we make a bid to the time we’ve finished a job, they’ll know that we’ve treated them fairly.
Our goal from the beginning was to change the industry by delivering a better product at a better price. We wanted people to know that we’re part of this community and that we take both our professional and personal responsibilities seriously. We’re very happy with the service we deliver and how we deliver it.
Even in busy times, customers can always expect us to follow through with what we start. We call people back, we do what’s right.
Spokane Roofing employees have daily safety and training meetings. Jeff Sitton expects each of his employees to have a wide range of skills, so that every crew member can fill in for another.
Employee satisfaction is critical to Jeff. He enjoys teaching the same work values which are important to him, especially accountability on the job, and he prides himself on the personal relationships he has with his workers.
Having entered its second century in business, Spokane Roofing Company continues to serve both residential and commercial clients. Recent commercial projects include Dave Smith Motors, Rockwood Clinic and Banner Bank.
Spokane Roofing Company is a member of the Better Business Bureau, Spokane Home Builder’s Association, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International and formerly the Spokane Chamber of Commerce. Jeff and his family have been involved in the community with projects for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.
