Residential Roofers In Safety Gear Feed Rooftop Debris Into Equipter RB4000 During Tearoff

Spokane Roofing Company recently purchased an Equipter RB4000 construction and roofing trailer. This piece of residential construction equipment is designed to save time, decrease labor costs, boost productivity and increase employee safety.

Equipter RB4000 Overview

The Equipter RB4000 is a ‘roofing buggy’ and an amazing addition to our inventory of state-of-the-art capital improvements. Its hydraulic lift can elevate the box as high as 16 feet off the ground. The trailer is only 6 feet wide, so we can tow it to a project just like any other trailer. A gasoline-powered hydraulic drive system maneuvers the trailer into place at the job site.

When in place, the Equipter is used to collect, handle and haul away old roofing material removed during roof tear off. After tear off, it can raise new roofing materials and supplies necessary for residential roof installation.

Equipter RB4000 Benefits

The big benefit for our residential customers is that the Equipter protects their yards, shrubbery, flowerbeds and home from debris, previously tossed off the roof during tear off. The trailer has fat tires, so it does not damage homeowners’ and landlords’ lawns. The dump capability enables us to haul that debris to wherever we need to discard it. It is the cleanest, most efficient way to do an otherwise dirty, labor-intensive job.

The Equipter RB4000 offers a huge improvement in our safety procedures. It helps to keep us compliant with Washington Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) codes. Using material handing equipment such as the RB4000 reduces the opportunity for worker accidents while lifting, handing or hauling material.

Residential Roofing Industry Changing

The residential roofing industry has completely changed in the last five years. Almost everything that used to be done manually is now done mechanically. It requires forklifts, flatbeds, dump trailers and dump trucks, utility trailers, etc. This shift to mechanical equipment makes the roofing business capital intensive. At $40,000, the RB4000 was not cheap. Our goal is not just to keep up with other companies, but to set the curve. There are only two companies in Spokane with an Equipter, which gives us a competitive cost advantage.

We believe that staying on the cutting edge of the industry is critical to our success. That’s my job, and I love it. When I look around our plant, I see a better roofing company than we were five years ago. That’s part of our mission, to never be satisfied with the status quo.
